SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the passing of Audrey I. Johnson of Virden, who passed away on June 3, 2010; and

WHEREAS, She was born September 18, 1925, in Rolfe, Iowa, the daughter of Albert and Hattie Ercelle (Hicks) Peers; on September 26, 1948, she married Arthur M. Johnson in Manson, Iowa; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Johnson was a graduate of Rolfe High School; she then went on to get her normal school training and taught at a country school; she later was a loving homemaker who enjoyed and excelled at home interior decorating; and

WHEREAS, She was a member of the Lutheran Ladies Aid and Card Club and loved art and music; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her sister, Helen Johnson; and

WHEREAS, Audrey Johnson is survived by her daughter, Sally Johnson; her two grandsons, Justin Johnson and Jason Johnson; her two great-grandsons; her great-granddaughter; her two great-great-granddaughters; her two sisters, Wanda Hodgell and Violet Schoon; and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Audrey Johnson; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Audrey Johnson as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
