SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Elizabeth "Bette" Bund of Alton, who passed away on February 6, 2009; and

WHEREAS, She was born June 7, 1924, in Springfield, Massachusetts, to the late James and Kathryn (O'Donnell) O'Neill; she married William F. Bund Jr. on December 9, 1944, in Boston; and

WHEREAS, She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a past member of the P.T.A. for Alton's First School District; she loved to sail, swim, and garden; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband, William; her parents; and her daughter, Kathryn (Bund) Johnson; and

WHEREAS, Elizabeth Bund is survived by her daughter and her husband, Elizabeth and George Grant; her son and his wife, William F. and Diane Bund III; her ten grandchildren, George, Sarah, Gavin, Brian, and Elizabeth Grant, Jay and Bill Johnson, and Billy, Bryan, and Blair Bund; her twelve great-grandchildren; her many nieces and nephews; and her son-in-law, Jim Johnson; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Elizabeth "Bette" Bund; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Elizabeth "Bette" Bund as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
