SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Manda Roberts of Chicago, who passed away on May 6, 2010; and

WHEREAS, She was born March 7, 1916 to Tom and Mary Jane Brown, the fifth child of seven; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her siblings, Maggie Hall (Big Sis), Nellie Brown (Auntie), Frank Brown, Cindy Ben, Bobby Lee Brown, and Jonnie Brown; and her sons, Frank and Joe; and

WHEREAS, Manda Roberts is survived by her children, Janie (Donald) Davis, Leslie Bibbs, Ernest Jr. (Denise), James (Vasti), Joel, and Garry; her daughter-in-law, Melissa; her 34 grandchildren; her 69 great-grandchildren; and her 11 great-great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Manda Roberts; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Manda Roberts as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
