SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Antoinette "Jeanette" Piening of Bethalto, who passed away on May 10, 2010; and

WHEREAS, Antoinette Margaret "Jeanette" Piening was born on Feb. 24, 1929, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of Frank and Theresa (Lang) Duritsch; she married August H. Piening Sr. on June 21, 1947, in Cincinnati; and

WHEREAS, She was a homemaker, devoted mother, and grandmother, and a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her brothers, Joseph, Frank, Albert, William, Gene, and Edward Duritsch; and her sister, Margaret "Marie" Jacober; and

WHEREAS, She is survived by her children, August H. Piening, William R. Piening, Mary E. Greer, Ann T. and Timothy McMahon, and Linda S. and Charles W. Hayes; her 10 grandchildren; and her seven great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Antoinette Piening; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Antoinette Piening as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
