SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Megan B. Oppenheimer (nee, Turner) of
4 Naperville, who passed away on April 30, 2010; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Megan, a 13-year resident of Naperville (formerly
6 of Reading, Pennsylvania), was born in Long Beach, California
7 on October 7, 1963; she attended Woodrow Wilson High School,
8 Long Beach, California, and later attended Glendale Community
9 College in Glendale, California, and the University of Maryland
10 in College Park, Maryland, where she met her husband, Richard;
11 and
 
12     WHEREAS, Megan was the Co-Director of Kid's Day Out
13 preschool at Wesley United Methodist Church in Naperville, and
14 was dearly loved by all of her students; and
 
15     WHEREAS, She was a sustaining member of the Junior League
16 of Kane and DuPage Counties (JLKD); she was instrumental on the
17 JLKD Name Change Committee, Chaired the Orientation, New
18 Member, and Transfer Committees, served on the Fundraising
19 Committee, was the Education coordinator, she served on the
20 JLKD Board of Directors and also worked on the JLKD Parent's
21 Pantry project; and

1     WHEREAS, She served on the board of the Naperville Area
2 Humane Society, where she was instrumental in developing small
3 donation fundraising events, spearheading the Concert in the
4 Park event, and was the single largest individual volunteer
5 fundraiser in the virtual Adopt-a-Thon event; and
 
6     WHEREAS, Megan B. Oppenheimer is survived by her children,
7 Andrew, Bryan, and Hannah Oppenheimer; her husband, Richard
8 Oppenheimer, and her loving golden-retriever, Brooklyn; her
9 parents, Judy Babineau (McCarthy); and Tim Turner; her sisters,
10 Janet Hebb and Linda (Hebb) Herz; and many loving cousins and
11 friends; she was a beloved daughter-in-law to Yvonne and Robert
12 Oppenheimer; grandchild-in-law of Miriam Oppenheimer; and
13 sister-in-law to Karl Oppenheimer; therefore, be it
 
14     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
15 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
16 her family and friends, the passing of Megan Oppenheimer; and
17 be it further
 
18     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19 presented to the family of Megan Oppenheimer as a symbol of our
20 sincere sympathy.
