SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Joan D. Carmody of Carlinville, who passed away on April 27, 2010; and

WHEREAS, She was born on November 12, 1934, in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Robert and Norma (Scherder) Daily; she married Thomas P. Carmody in St. Louis, Missouri, on May 6, 1961; and

WHEREAS, She graduated from Bayless High School in St. Louis, Missouri, St. John's Mercy School of Nursing, and Blackburn College; she was a nurse, homemaker, wife, and mother; she was a member of Ss. Mary & Joseph Catholic Church and the Ladies Bridge Club; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents; and

WHEREAS, Joan Carmody is survived by her husband, Thomas P. Carmody; her son, Stephen R. Carmody (Tracy); her daughter, Dr. Susan Joan Carmody (Tim Taylor); her grandchildren, Clare and Patrick Carmody, Ryan and Adare Carmody, and Grace and Catherine Joan Taylor; her sisters, Patricia Grimes and Carmen Dvorak; her brother, Dave Daily (Barbara); and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Joan Carmody; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Joan Carmody as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
