SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Barbara Ebner, nee Schaeffer, of Oak Park, who passed away on March 18, 2010; and

WHEREAS, She earned her MBA from the University of Chicago, and later worked as a market researcher and product manager for an Indiana corporation and retired in the late 1980s; and

WHEREAS, She was an avid sailor and member of the Columbia Yacht Club; she also participated in several Mackinac races; she also loved to garden and read; and

WHEREAS, She served as a Trustee for the Village of Oak Park for four years, from 1999 to 2003; she served as Chairperson of the Public Works Committee, and liaison to the Environmental and Energy Advisory Commission, Forestry Commission, Public Art Advisory Commission, and Universal Access Commission; and

WHEREAS, She was active for many years in the Village Manager Association; and

WHEREAS, Barbara Ebner was the beloved wife of Herman; the loving sister of the late Eloyse Ham; and the dear friend of Kathleen and Sandy; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Barbara Ebner; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Barbara Ebner as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
