SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Marie Aurelia Broderick Sisolak of
4 Waukegan, who passed away on January 20, 2009; and
 
5     WHEREAS, She was born July 1, 1918, in St. Louis, Missouri,
6 to Richard and Zoie Dorsett Broderick; Marie was a lifelong
7 Waukegan resident, where she lived with her husband of 69
8 years, Joe Sisolak; and
 
9     WHEREAS, She was a descendant of the pioneer Dorsett Family
10 of Waukegan; she was a member of St. Anastasia Parish, Life
11 Master Bridge Player, and an avid golfer; she was a member of
12 the Bonnie Brook Ladies Golf Association since 1946, and she
13 had won 48 golf championships in her lifetime; and
 
14     WHEREAS, Marie and her husband volunteered for 52 years
15 with the Swing Club at Downey Veterans Hospital in North
16 Chicago where the golf course was named in their honor, the Joe
17 and Marie Sisolak Golf Course; she taught juniors ages four
18 through college how to play golf at the First Tee Program at
19 Foss Park Golf Course; and
 
20     WHEREAS, Marie is survived by her husband, Joe Sisolak; her
21 sons, Tom Sisolak and wife, Jane, and Bill Sisolak and wife,

1 Vira; her grandchildren, Mary Beth Sisolak Wagner and husband,
2 Dale, Michael Sisolak and wife, Ilyse, and Brian Sisolak and
3 fiance, Ericka Bolinger; her great-granddaughter, Zoie
4 Sisolak; and her many nieces and nephews and loving friends;
5 therefore, be it
 
6     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
7 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
8 her family and friends, the passing of Marie A. Sisolak; and be
9 it further
 
10     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11 presented to the family of Marie A. Sisolak as a symbol of our
12 sincere sympathy.
