SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Brande "Boo" Erin Akers of Rome, who passed away on March 10, 2010; and

WHEREAS, Brande Akers was born on June 13, 1979, in Peoria; and

WHEREAS, Brande Akers attended the Peoria Developmental Center for 18 years; and

WHEREAS, Brande Akers befriended everyone she met through her great big grin and greeted everyone who tousled her hair with a giggle; and

WHEREAS, Brande Akers enjoyed music, especially music on the riverfront, Janis Joplin, the bagpipes, and Celtic Woman; she was as adventurous as her physical capabilities would allow her or as far as her father would take her; and

WHEREAS, Brande Akers was preceded in death by her grandparents, Frank and Evelyn Akers and Boyce and Libbie Lovan Sr.; and her uncle, Mike Lovan; and

WHEREAS, Brande Akers is survived by her loving parents, Robert "Bob" and Mary C. Lovan Akers; her aunts and uncles, Fran Pierce, Frank (Ellen) Akers, Carole Stephens, Bill (Carol) Akers, Peg (Ron) Callahan, Ed (Lynn) Akers, Tom (Lynn) Akers, Marti (Larry) Coates, Bill (Jennifer) Lovan, Bob (Elizabeth) Lovan, Deb (James) Jackson, Brenda (Matt) Jackson; and her many cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Brande "Boo" Erin Akers; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Brande Akers as an expression of our sympathy.
