SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Donald F. McBride of Beach Park, who
4 passed away on January 28, 2010; and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was born September 22, 1921 in Hector,
6 Minnesota and has lived in the Beach Park area for the past 60
7 plus years; he was a Veteran of World War II, enlisting the day
8 after the attack on Pearl Harbor; he served with the United
9 States Navy for seven years, including time aboard the USS J.
10 Franklin Bell; and
 
11     WHEREAS, He was a 55-year member of Local #150, Operating
12 Engineers, retiring in 1980; he was a life member of Winthrop
13 Harbor V.F.W. #7448, and the Military Order of the Cooties, Ho
14 Tai Chapter #067, and he was a member of Zion-Benton Moose
15 #667; and
 
16     WHEREAS, He enjoyed gardening, fixing cars for his friends,
17 and operating his tractor; and
 
18     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his sister, Doris
19 Olson; and his parents, Clarence and Anne (nee Witte) McBride;
20 and

1     WHEREAS, Donald McBride is survived by his wife of 52
2 years, Inda (nee Banes); his daughter, Tanya Marie (Charles)
3 McBride-Churchill; his son, Frank D. McBride; his five
4 grandchildren, Israel Love, Jacob McBride, Hannah Morin,
5 Nathan McBride, and Andrea Payne; his four
6 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Ethel Tagness, Earl (Lois)
7 McBride, Gladys (Kermit) Kiecker, Jean McBride, and Fran Piehl;
8 and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
9     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
10 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
11 his family and friends, the passing of Donald McBride; and be
12 it further
 
13     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14 presented to the family of Donald McBride as a symbol of our
15 sincere sympathy.
