SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Helen E. Stringer of Lake Villa, who passed away on January 5, 2009; and

WHEREAS, Helen Stringer was born on January 7, 1927 in Chicago; she married Earl Stringer on October 16, 1948; and

WHEREAS, Helen Stringer graduated from the Augustana Hospital School of Nursing in 1948; she considered herself blessed to be able to do the work she loved for so many years; she retired from Victory Memorial Hospital on January 12, 1990 after 38 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Helen Stringer attended Chain O' Lakes Bible Church; and

WHEREAS, Helen Stringer was preceded in death by her husband; her daughter, Susan Clark; and her sisters, Lucille McGowan and Elizabeth Lorinat; and

WHEREAS, Helen Stringer is survived by her devoted sons, David Earl and John Scott; her grandchild, Maryellen Stringer; and her siblings, William H. Schults, Ruth Grossman, and Doris Sommerfield; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Helen E. Stringer; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Helen Stringer as an expression of our sympathy.
