SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Richard J. Meckler of Round Lake Beach, who passed away on February 1, 2009; and

WHEREAS, Richard Meckler was born on November 1, 1949 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; he was the son of the late Pearl and Joseph Meckler; he married his wife, Pamela on July 29, 1972; he was a resident of Round Lake Beach for the past 15 years; and

WHEREAS, Richard Meckler was the owner of Talking Wireless in Grayslake; he loved his customers and knew the meaning of customer service; and

WHEREAS, Richard Meckler was an active member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Lindenhurst and a member of the Grayslake Business Breakfast Club; and

WHEREAS, Richard Meckler will be remembered for his passion for playing basketball and as an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers football team; and

WHEREAS, Richard Meckler is survived by his wife of 36 years, Pamela; his children, Elizabeth (Christopher) Ahlman, Adam (Jana), and Jonathan; his grandson, Thomas Ahlman; and his brother, William (Emmajean) Meckler; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Richard J. Meckler; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Richard Meckler as an expression of our sympathy.
