SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert E. Clark of Waukegan and Lake Forest, who passed away on July 23, 2009; and

WHEREAS, Robert Clark was born on November 3, 1942, in Waukegan; and

WHEREAS, Robert Clark served his country with pride and distinction as a member of the United States Army from 1965 to 1967; and

WHEREAS, Robert Clark retired from U.S. Gypsum after 25 years of dedicated service; he later worked for the Chicago Convention and Tourism Bureau; and

WHEREAS, Robert Clark was a member of St. Anastasia Church of Waukegan; and

WHEREAS, Robert Clark enjoyed traveling, reading a good book, and watching a sunset in Door County, Wisconsin; his travels took him to New Orleans, California, Florida, Hawaii, the Bahamas, and Europe; and

WHEREAS, Robert Clark was preceded in death by his father, Walter Clark; his mother, Mildred Lorts; his step-father, Roy Lorts; and his brother, John; and

WHEREAS, Robert Clark is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lucille; his niece (who was like a daughter), Karen (Robert) Serkowski; his siblings, Frank (Ann) Clark, Sue (Karl) Miklas, and Karen Clark; his in-laws, Andrew Hebior, Theresa Zdanowicz, Eugene (Patricia) Hebior, Daniel Hebior, and Donna Hebior; and his many nieces, nephews, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Robert E. Clark; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Robert Clark as an expression of our sympathy.
