SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Sergeant Jason McLeod of Crystal Lake, who was killed in a mortar attack while serving in Pashmul, Afghanistan on November 23, 2009; and

WHEREAS, He was born September 16, 1987, in Elgin, to Gregory McLeod and Barb McLeod, nee Hanke; in 2006, he graduated from Crystal Lake Central High School; and

WHEREAS, On July 10, 2007, he was united in marriage to Aimee Rambo; and

WHEREAS, He enjoyed football, hockey, RC cars, and working on cars; and

WHEREAS, Sergeant Jason McLeod is survived by his wife, Aimee McLeod; his daughter, Jocelyn Elizabeth McLeod; his mother, Barb McLeod; his father, Gregory McLeod; his brother, Justin; his sister, Jacquee; his mother-in-law, Julie Ghannam; his brothers-in-law, Andrew Graf and Daniel Escobar; his maternal grandmother, Marion Hanke; his paternal grandparents, Denny and Sandra Williams; his paternal great-grandparents, Charlie and Mable Kariya; and his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and good friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his friends, family, and a grateful nation, the passing of Sergeant Jason McLeod; and be it further

RESOLVED, That we honor the memory of Sergeant Jason McLeod and his willingness to serve his country, which led to him making the ultimate sacrifice; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Sergeant Jason McLeod as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
