SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Sharon Lord Lebsack, who passed away on
4 October 28, 2009; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Sharon Lebsack was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana; in
6 her youth, she lived with her family in various places in the
7 United States, Japan, and Morocco, where she graduated from
8 high school; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Sharon Lebsack attended nursing school at St. Mary
10 of the Plains in Dodge City, Kansas; she then earned her
11 bachelor's degree in nursing from Creighton University in
12 Omaha, Nebraska; during college, while working the night shift
13 in the emergency room of a hospital, she met her future
14 husband, Lyle Dean; less than a year later, she married her
15 husband in Omaha and moved to Chicago; and
 
16     WHEREAS, After moving to Chicago, Sharon Lebsack earned her
17 master's degree in nursing at Dominican University in River
18 Forest; she then began a career as a registered nurse, which
19 included stints at the University of Illinois Medical Center at
20 Chicago and the Rush University Medical Center; she also worked
21 part-time at the Mercy Medical Center in Chicago and Holy
22 Family Medical Center in Des Plaines and was the office manager

1 for Dean's independent media ventures; and
 
2     WHEREAS, Sharon Lebsack was an active member of the Our
3 Lady of the Brook Catholic Church in Northbrook, where she
4 served many years as a Eucharistic minister; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Sharon Lebsack enjoyed gardening, fishing, and
6 traveling the world with her husband; and
 
7     WHEREAS, Sharon Lebsack is survived by her husband, Lyle;
8 her daughter, Kirsten Whipple; her son, Erik; her sister, Janet
9 Lord; her brothers, Richard, Thomas, and Michael Lord; and her
10 5 grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
11     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
12 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
13 her family and friends, the passing of Sharon Lord Lebsack; and
14 be it further
 
15     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16 presented to the family of Sharon Lebsack as an expression of
17 our sympathy.
