SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Stella M. Dey of Carlinville, who passed away on September 21, 2009; and

WHEREAS, Stella Dey was born on February 1, 1924, in Gillespie; she was the daughter of Ira and Stella Linton Bethel; and

WHEREAS, Stella Dey began working in her father’s insurance office as a secretary at age 15; during World War II, she was employed in an airplane factory in Indiana; she then worked for Prairie Farms Dairy for many years until her retirement in 1987; and

WHEREAS, Stella Dey was preceded in death by her son, Robert Duaine Sackett; her parents; and her 4 brothers; and

WHEREAS, Stella Dey is survived by her son and daughters-in-law, Denis and Michelle Sackett and Donna (husband, Jerry) Burnett; her daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Greg Joiner; her grandchildren, Shawne Sackett, Kimberly Sackett, Greg Joiner, Michael Joiner, Tracey Joiner, Andrea Sackett, Sara Sackett, Eric Sackett, Cheryl Klaus, Howard Dunn, Ernest Dunn, Angela Barnes, and Audra Pierce; her 21 great-grandchildren; and her many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Stella M. Dey; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Stella Dey as an expression of our sympathy.
