SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Frank Blumenshine of Creve Coeur, who passed away on October 20, 2009; and

WHEREAS, He was born April 16, 1961, in Peoria to Gail and Virginia June (Southey) Blumenshine; he married Johnnie Schmidt on June 6, 1981; and

WHEREAS, He was loved by almost everyone he came into contact with; he was a loving and caring son, brother, father, grandpa, and friend; and

WHEREAS, He worked for the American Red Cross for the last 20 years, starting in Peoria then transferring to Columbia, Missouri the last few years; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Robert J. Zelenda; his brother, Gail Blumenshine; and his sister, Patty Blumenshine; and

WHEREAS, Frank Blumenshine is survived by his son, Sean (Christina) Blumenshine; his brothers, Walt Blumenshine, Steve (Tammy) Blumenshine, and Robert (Julie) Zelenda; his grandson, Stephen Blumenshine; his granddaughter, Autumn Blumenshine; and his wonderful roommate and confidant, Carrie Friend; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Frank Blumenshine; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Frank Blumenshine as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
