SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Shirley L. Weatherford of Carlinville, who passed away on October 14, 2009; and

WHEREAS, She was born on February 5, 1929, in Hillsboro, the daughter of Everett H. and Floy Elizabeth (East) Williams; and

WHEREAS, She married J.T. Weatherford in Carlinville, on April 24, 1949; and

WHEREAS, She was co-administrator for Weatherford Nursing Home with her husband J.T.; in 1975 they built Sunshine Manor Nursing Home in Carlinville and operated it until they retired in 1985; she was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Carlinville; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her grandson, Jason Dugger; her granddaughter, Kendra Higgins; her four sisters; and her two brothers; and

WHEREAS, Shirley Weatherford is survived by her daughter, Kathy Dugger (Tom); her daughter, Janie Ashworth (Jim); her daughter, Jeri Lynn Murphy; her son, Ennio Weatherford (Paola); her 7 grandchildren; her 7 great-grandchildren; her sister, Helen Shockey; and sister, Alvera Dawson; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Shirley Weatherford; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Shirley Weatherford as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
