SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Larry A. Guthrie of Libertyville, who passed away on August 28, 2009; and

WHEREAS, Larry Guthrie was born on February 2, 1939, in Waukegan; he married Marlene Mountz (nee Job) in 1967 in North Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Larry Guthrie was the owner and operator of Doyle Distributing in Waukegan from 1973 until his retirement in 2005; he served as Past Director of the Bank of Waukegan for several years; he was a former Employer Trustee for Teamsters Local #301 from 1990 to 2008; he was also a past member of the Waukegan City Club; and

WHEREAS, Larry Guthrie was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia, and his parents, Howard and Lillian Guthrie; and

WHEREAS, Larry Guthrie is survived by his wife, Marlene; his daughter, Carrie (Jim) Pierce; his son, Thomas Guthrie; his grandchildren, Joshua and Andrew Pierce; and his sister, Patricia (Alan) Sayerstad; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Larry A. Guthrie; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Larry Guthrie as an expression of our sympathy.
