SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Howard Breckenfeld of Winthrop Harbor;
4 and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was born on January 20, 1921 in Minneapolis,
6 Minnesota; he served with the United States Navy during World
7 War II in the South Pacific; he was a recipient of the Purple
8 Heart from injuries he received during his service; and
 
9     WHEREAS, He retired from OMC in the 1986; he was an active
10 member of the Winthrop Harbor United Methodist Church and a
11 member of the American Legion; he also served as Mayor of
12 Winthrop Harbor in the early 1960s; and
 
13     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents, William
14 and Clara Breckenfeld; his brother, Herbert "Jack"
15 Breckenfeld; and his sister-in-law, June Breckenfeld; and
 
16     WHEREAS, Howard Breckenfeld is survived by his wife of 65
17 years, Ruth; his children, Bruce (Joanna) Breckenfeld, Susan
18 (Tony) Hladky, and Brian Breckenfeld; his grandchildren, Ted
19 (Tina) Breckenfeld, Ellen (Brian) Shuanessy, Christopher
20 Hladky, and Kara Hladky; his great-grandchildren, Hanna
21 Breckenfeld, Garret Breckenfeld, and Molly Hladky; his

1 brother, Jim Breckenfeld; and his sister-in-law, Gloria
2 Breckenfeld; therefore, be it
 
3     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
4 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
5 his family and friends, the passing of Howard Breckenfeld; and
6 be it further
 
7     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8 presented to the family of Howard Breckenfeld as a symbol of
9 our sincere sympathy.
