SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Cletus Henkhaus, who passed away on October 7, 2009; and

WHEREAS, Cletus Henkhaus was born on February 19, 1923, in Alton; he was the son of Victor and Hilda (Rosin) Henkhaus; he married the former Betty Danneman on May 8, 1943, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church; and

WHEREAS, Cletus Henkhaus graduated from Marquette Catholic High School in 1941; and

WHEREAS, Cletus Henkhaus was employed as a first class maintenance repairman for Illinois Power Company for 19 years; he was previously employed with Shell Oil as a machinist for 20 years; and

WHEREAS, Cletus Henkhaus was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey and a lifetime member of the Alton Knights of Columbus; he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends; and

WHEREAS, Cletus Henkhaus was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Tom Henkhaus; and his sister and brother-in-law, Bernadine and Harold Birerbaum; and

WHEREAS, Cletus Henkhaus is survived by his wife; his children and their spouses, Vic (Ann) Henkhaus, Patricia (Jay) Wolff, Sue (Bob) Higgins, Dan Henkhaus, Joseph Henkhaus, David (Terri) Henkhaus, Chris (Julie) Henkhaus, Mary (Andy) Harshbarger, and Tom (Doris) Dooley; his grandchildren, Randy Henkhaus, Kim Trossauer, Kelly Stutz, Lisa Scheffel, David, Matthew, and Michael Wolff, Julie Cheek, Adam Higgins, Jeremy and Jason Henkhaus, Amy Cole, Emily Mayberry, Carrie Alverno, Jake Henkhaus, Jeny Lewis, Brian, Tony, Marcus, and Patrick Henkhaus, Christopher, Mandi, and Nathan Henkhaus, Megan Thomas, Ryan Cassidy, Nicholas Warner, Jessica Stucker, and AJ Harshbarger; his 34 great-grandchildren; his great-great-grandchild; and his sister-in-law, Carol Henkhaus; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Cletus Henkhaus; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Cletus Henkhaus as an expression of our sympathy.
