SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Megan Hurckes of Oak Lawn, who passed away on September 9, 2009; and

WHEREAS, Megan was born on February 5, 1999, the daughter of Oak Lawn trustee Jerry Hurckes and his wife, Mary Ann; and

WHEREAS, Megan attended school at Kolb Elementary School in Oak Lawn and was in the fifth grade; and

WHEREAS, Megan attended religious education classes at St. Louis de Montfort Catholic Church in Oak Lawn; and

WHEREAS, Megan was a stand-out softball player, who helped her team win a championship this summer; she was a pitcher, and also played first or second base when she was not pitching; and

WHEREAS, Megan is survived by her parents; her sister, Jenna; her grandmother, Bonnie Hurckes; and her grandparents, Carmen and Connie Cacciottolo; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family, friends, and classmates, the passing of Megan Hurckes; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Megan Hurckes as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
