SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Carole Carter; and

WHEREAS, Carole Carter was born on July 12, 1960; and

WHEREAS, Carole Carter devoted much of her time to the non-profit organization she founded, the Big Girl Faith Organization, which provides spiritual and financial support to women of color who are fighting breast cancer and in need of assistance with rent or mortgage payments, utilities, transportation to and from treatment, groceries, and care-giving services; and

WHEREAS, Carole Carter was an employee of Motorola and helped to develop OnStar; she also worked at Continental for 15 years; and

WHEREAS, Carole Carter was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ and served as Chairperson of the Sistuh Fund Giving Circle; and

WHEREAS, Carole Carter was a loving and affectionate person who was always ready to greet someone with a hug and a smile; she was loved by all who knew her; she was a dedicated mother and friend who was always willing to give her last dollar to anyone who needed it; she was also an avid traveler; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Carole Carter has been felt deeply by many, especially her mother, her daughter, the members of the Big Girl Faith Organization and the Sistuh Fund Giving Circle, and her many close friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Carole Carter; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Carole Carter as an expression of our sympathy.
