| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | | 3 |
| learn of the death of
Richard "Duke" Goodwin of Winthrop | | 4 |
| Harbor, who passed away on January 24, 2009; and
| | 5 |
| WHEREAS, Richard Goodwin was a member of Plasterers and | | 6 |
| Cement Masons Local 11 of Lake County; and
| | 7 |
| WHEREAS, Richard Goodwin was a member of North Prairie | | 8 |
| United Methodist Church and Zion-Benton Moose Lodge #667; and
| | 9 |
| WHEREAS, Richard Goodwin enjoyed all sports and was a | | 10 |
| die-hard Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan; he also enjoyed | | 11 |
| cooking for his family; and
| | 12 |
| WHEREAS, Richard Goodwin was preceded in death by his | | 13 |
| parents, Howard and Francis Goodwin; his brother, Tommy | | 14 |
| Goodwin; his sister, Ruth (the late Robert) Humphreys; his | | 15 |
| grand-daughter, Erica Ianson; and his nephew, Timothy Goodwin; | | 16 |
| and
| | 17 |
| WHEREAS, Richard Goodwin is survived by his wife, Karen; | | 18 |
| his daughters, DeAnn (Van) Weber, Linda (Bob) Paar, and Karin | | 19 |
| (Mike) Jasinkski; his brothers, Charles (Mary) Goodwin and | | 20 |
| Howard (Kathy) Goodwin; his sister, Virginia Goodwin Benson; |

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL | | 5 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | | 6 |
| his family and friends, the passing of Richard "Duke" Goodwin; | | 7 |
| and be it further
| | 8 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | | 9 |
| presented to the family of Richard Goodwin as an expression of | | 10 |
| our sympathy.
