SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Betty L. Romolo of Peoria, who passed away on July 19, 2009; and

WHEREAS, Betty Romolo was born on September 21, 1928 in Kentucky; his parents were George and Lila Lovan; she married Tony Romolo on December 24, 1951; and

WHEREAS, Betty Romolo was a loyal and dedicated employee at Caterpillar Inc. for 30 years until her retirement in 1982; and

WHEREAS, Betty Romolo enjoyed golfing and all other sports; she was also an avid fan of her children and grandchildren's sports and the Chicago Bulls; and

WHEREAS, Betty Romolo was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Jenkins and Edna Mae McCormick; and her brothers, Charles Lovan, Angus Lovan, Boyce Lovan, Tom Lovan, and Willard Lovan; and

WHEREAS, Betty Romolo is survived by her husband, Tony; her son, Joe Romolo; her daughter, Lila Kennelly; her grandchildren, Kristin, Luke, and Nick Romolo, and Katy and Nathan Kennelly; and her sisters, Nadine Lovan, Dorothy Ann Dillinghham, and Martha Lee Offut; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Betty L. Romolo; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Betty Romolo as an expression of our sympathy.
