| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | | 3 |
| learn of the death of Dorothy Mandel of Peoria, who passed away | | 4 |
| on June 24, 2009; and
| | 5 |
| WHEREAS, She was born January 15, 1927, in Peoria to Fred | | 6 |
| and Vera Beckwith Van De Veer; and
| | 7 |
| WHEREAS, She was a member of Women's American O.R.T. and a | | 8 |
| life member of Hadassah; and
| | 9 |
| WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her sister; and
| | 10 |
| WHEREAS, Dorothy Mandel is survived by her son, Phillip J. | | 11 |
| (Gerald Haley) Mandel; her daughters, Heidi M. (Keith A.) | | 12 |
| Turcot and Nancy (William) Suwalski; her grandchildren, Sarah | | 13 |
| Suwalski, Kathryn Hartnett, Jordan Mandel, Jenny Mandel, | | 14 |
| Lindsay Glazer, Abby Glazer, and Ellie Glazer; and her brother, | | 15 |
| James (Sharon) Warren; therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL | | 17 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | | 18 |
| her family and friends, the passing of Dorothy Mandel; and be | | 19 |
