SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Edward P. "Mousie" Maluska Sr. of North
4 Chicago, who passed away on November 1, 2008; and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was born on October 8, 1910 in Chicago, the son
6 of Victor and Lillian Maluska; he received his primary
7 education from the Felician Nuns at Holy Rosary School, and was
8 a parishioner of Queen of Peach Church (formerly Holy Rosary
9 Church); and
 
10     WHEREAS, He served in the United States Navy during World
11 War II, from 1943 to 1946; and
 
12     WHEREAS, He was a member of the American Legion Post 397
13 and the Polish National Alliance; after his retirement from the
14 Illinois Tollway in 1978 he remained active as the manager of
15 Maluska Bowling Lanes for 5 years; and
 
16     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his wife, Victoria;
17 his infant son, Gregory; his parents, Victor and Lillian
18 Maluska; and his sisters, Florence (Wasil) and Ann (May); and
 
19     WHEREAS, Edward Maluska Sr. is survived by his children,
20 Lorraine Glasscock, Edward (Dolly) Maluska Jr., and Robert

1 (Chyrel) Maluska Sr.; his grandchildren, Joranie Glasscock,
2 Darlene (Rick) Contino, Robert (Tricia) Maluska Jr., Lori
3 Staben, Christy (Stefan) Rachev, Chyrel Rivera, Edward Michael
4 Maluska, and Katherine Maluska; and his great-grandchildren,
5 Allie, Christy, Katiana, Nadia, Stephan, Lori, Noel, Nicholas,
6 Mary, Nina, Ashton, Gina, Dominic, and Estaban; therefore, be
7 it
 
8     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
9 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
10 his family and friends, the passing of Edward Maluska Sr.; and
11 be it further
 
12     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13 presented to the family of Edward Maluska Sr. as a symbol of
14 our sincere sympathy.
