SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Leonard Junior Boston of Waggoner, who passed away on May 19, 2009; and

WHEREAS, He was born on April 28, 1922, in rural Waggoner, the son of Leonard Bland & Viva (Fite) Boston; he married Freda Mae Ruyle on May 22, 1943 in Girard; and

WHEREAS, He was a farmer and Pitman Township Road Commissioner for 26 years; he was a member of Waggoner Christian Church; he was also Pitman Township Clerk and a Democratic Precinct Committeeman; and

WHEREAS, During Irish Days 2008, he was the recipient along with his wife, Mrs. Boston, of Citizen of the Year; in his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, and gardening; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Ralph Boston; and

WHEREAS, Leonard Boston is survived by his wife, Freda; his son, Gary (Liz) Boston; his daughter, Sharon (Richard) Lyons; his sister, Nancy (Jim) Guyer; his grandchildren, Chris (Tim) Fowler, Jenny (Randy) McBeath, Heather (Phillip) Sirota, and Amy Boston; his stepgrandson, Dave (Amy) Wallace; his four great-granddaughters; his great-grandson; his step-great-granddaughter; and his three step-great-grandsons; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Leonard Boston; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Leonard Boston as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
