SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Stephen C. Adams of Cary, who passed away on April 23, 2009; and

WHEREAS, Stephen Adams was born on January 27, 1956 in Galesburg; his parents were Frank and Lois Adams; he married Karen (Garms) Adams on December 6, 1980 in Barrington; and

WHEREAS, Stephen Adams was an Illinois All-State Football Player at Barrington High School; he pursued his football career at Tulsa University, where he received his bachelor's degree; and

WHEREAS, Stephen Adams was employed as an independent real estate appraiser; and

WHEREAS, Stephen Adams served as a member of the Cary Village Board, having been re-elected to serve another four-year term in April of 2009; during his tenure, he served as chairperson of the Public Safety Committee and member of the Public Works Committee; and

WHEREAS, Stephen Adams was a past president of the Cary-Grove Crime Stoppers; he formerly served on the Board of Directors at Biltmore C.C.; he was also a former board member of the Burnham Insurance Company and served as president of American Financial Insurance Consultants; and

WHEREAS, Stephen Adams was preceded in death by his brother, Gregory Adams; and

WHEREAS, Stephen Adams is survived by his children, Dan, Bryan, and Kevin Adams; his siblings, Debbie (Chris) Williams, Jim (Stephanie) Adams, and Linda (John) Tomlinson; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Stephen C. Adams; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Stephen Adams as an expression of our sympathy.
