SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Dolores Rolling of Chicago, who recently passed away; and

WHEREAS, She was born on January 24, 1936 to Alex and Mary Carlisle in Chicago; she attended Smyth Elementary School and McKinley High School; she continued her education and graduated from Cortez Peters Business College; she held several jobs as a secretary and retired from the Chicago Board of Education, after 25 years of service; and

WHEREAS, She was baptized at an early age and later attended and became a dedicated member of Christ Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, under the ministry and leadership of the late, great Reverend Milton Brunson; and

WHEREAS, She married Maurice Watkins in 1953; to this union, one child, Phyniece (Cookie), was born; later in life, she was divorced, and in 1964, she met and fell in love with George Rolling, Sr.; they were wed in 1973 and to their union one child, Bridgett, was born; and

WHEREAS, Preceding her in death were her mother and father, Alex and Mary Carlisle; her brothers, Winston, Alex Jr., Leon, and Gerald; her sisters, Myrtle and Christine; and one great-grandson, Ryan; and

WHEREAS, Dolores Rolling is survived by her loving husband, George; her daughters, Phyniece and Bridgett; her stepsons, Greg, Henry (Hank), Curt, George Jr., and Rusty; her sisters, Vicella Bonheart and Patricia Williams; her brothers, Delano (Carlee) and Vincent; her grandchildren, Kimberly, Tammy (LaShaun), and Winston; her great-grandchildren, Aaron, Jeffery, Jashaun, Joseph, and Lashauni; and a host of nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Dolores Rolling; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Dolores Rolling as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
