SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of M. Keith "Red" Mefford of Carlinville, who passed away on April 21, 2009; and

WHEREAS, He was born on February 5, 1933, in Hettick, to Wayne and Margurete Ladley Mefford; he married Barbara L. Miller on June 18, 1955 in Carlinville; and

WHEREAS, He was a 1951 graduate of Carlinville High School; he served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict; he was a supervisor for the Illinois Department of Transportation; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, M. Keith "Red" Mefford is survived by his wife, Barbara; his sons, Bradley (Paula Schaefer) Mefford and Douglas (Laura) Mefford; his daughters, Lori (Mark) Hopping and Tracy (Randy) Bilbruck; his grandchildren, Lexi Bilbruck, Darci Bilbruck, Lucas Mefford, and Elsa Mefford; his brother, Bill (Marcia) Mefford; his sisters, Mary (Roy) Hurst and Janet (Ted) Collins; and his several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of M. Keith "Red" Mefford; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of M. Keith "Red" Mefford as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
