SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Carlo J. Vitale of Carlinville, who passed away on March 18, 2009; and

WHEREAS, Carlo Vitale was born on January 16, 1927 in Cinisi, Italy; he was the son of the late Jasper Vitale and Nicolina Anania; he married Elizabeth Anania in St. Louis, Missouri on July 8, 1950; she preceded him in death in November of 1990; and

WHEREAS, Carlo Vitale retired from Continental Can in St. Louis, Missouri after 35 years of dedicated service; he then moved to Carlinville in 1984 and opened Romz's Pizza, working there until his retirement in 1997; and

WHEREAS, Carlo Vitale was preceded in death by his wife and sister, Stephanie Rorick; and

WHEREAS, Carlo Vitale is survived by his sons, Jasper V. Vitale and Carlo J. Vitale (girlfriend, Addie Perkins); his daughter, Nicolene Rosene; his grandchildren, Carla and Charlie Rosene; his brothers, Joe Vitale, Jasper Vitale, and Salvadore Vitale; his sisters, Rosie Vitale, Lena Balassi, and Maria Ebbinghaus; and his several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Carlo J. Vitale; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Carlo Vitale as an expression of our sympathy.
