SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Brother Paul McGinnis of Metropolis, who passed away on February 15, 2009; and

WHEREAS, Paul McGinnis was a retired Baptist Minister, having served churches in the Metropolis area for 51 years; he planned and served on more than 200 mission trips to Jamaica and Antigua; he was also devoted to World Changers Leadership and the Illinois Baptist Disaster Relief Ministry; and

WHEREAS, Paul McGinnis owned and operated McGinnis Heating for 35 years; and

WHEREAS, Paul McGinnis was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Orphia Howard McGinnis; his brothers, Earl Laverne McGinnis and Loren McGinnis; and his sister, Helen McGinnis Shelton; and

WHEREAS, Paul McGinnis is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jane Fuqua McGinnis; his sons, David McGinnis and his wife, Connie, and Duane McGinnis and his wife, Mic; his daughter, Beth Meinders and her husband, Randy; his granddaughter, Leslie McGinnis Peternell and her husband, Ryan; his brothers, Howard and Lindell McGinnis; his sister-in-law, Lorena McGinnis; and his other relatives and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Brother Paul McGinnis; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Paul McGinnis as an expression of our sympathy.
