SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of James H. McClenahan, who passed away on December 30, 2010; and

WHEREAS, James McClenahan was born on December 10, 1921, in Dupo; he was the son of James William and Melbo Lucille (Vallowe) McClenahan; he married Loretta May McDowell on June 26, 1945, in Granite City; and

WHEREAS, James McClenahan served his country with pride and distinction as a member of the United States Marine Corps during World War II; and

WHEREAS, James McClenahan worked for Illinois Terminal Railroad as an electrician for 34 years before retiring in 1981; and

WHEREAS, James McClenahan was a past State Commander and Quartermaster of the Illinois VFW; he was also a member of the Wood River VFW Post #2859 and the Wood River Methodist Church; and

WHEREAS, James McClenahan is survived by his wife; his daughters, Gayle Palen and Patti Daniel and her husband, David; his granddaughter, Kate Collins, and her husband, Ryan, her son, Ryder, her grandson, Corey Daniel, and his children, Sydney, Dane, and Sophie; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of James H. McClenahan; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of James McClenahan as an expression of our sympathy.
