SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Scott R. Triphahn of Hoffman Estates, who passed away on December 21, 2010; and

WHEREAS, Scott Triphahn was born March 24, 1957 in Chicago; and

WHEREAS, He was president and CEO of W-T Engineering, Incorporated; he was a commissioner of the Hoffman Estates Park District for 13 years; he was president of the Friends of HE Park Foundation; he was past chairman of the Illinois Association of Park Districts; and he was a board member of Barrington Bank & Trust, WINGS, and was also affiliated with many other organizations; and

WHEREAS, The Scott Triphahn Community Center and Ice Arena was dedicated in his honor on December 11, 2010; and

WHEREAS, He became the founding president of the Friends of HE Parks Foundation in 1999, providing opportunities for financially disadvantaged children to participate in park district programs; he also aided in the building of the Community Center named in his honor, and for bringing the Chicago Wolves to the facility, which serves as a practice site; and

WHEREAS, Scott Triphahn was the beloved husband of Susan (nee, McGovern); the loving father of Troy (Maren), Ryan, and Jaclyn Triphahn; the loving son of Barbara Triphahn-Abraham (Howard) and the late Donald Triphahn; the dear brother of Stephen (Michelle) and Jonathan (Jean) Triphahn; and the dear uncle of many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his friends, family, and community, the passing of Scott Triphahn; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Scott Triphahn as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
