SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Vera C. Pratt of Girard; and

WHEREAS, Vera Pratt was born on November 15, 1933; she was the daughter of Oliver William and Nellie Joy (Taylor) Sheppard; she married Bill H. Pratt on January 11, 1952, in Yuma, Arizona; and

WHEREAS, Vera Pratt graduated from Girard High School in 1951; and

WHEREAS, Vera Pratt was employed for 33 years at the Macoupin County Courthouse; she was a member of the Macoupin County Board for many years; she also served as a teacher's aide at Girard Elementary School for 13 years; and

WHEREAS, Vera Pratt was a member of the Virden Senior Citizens and the Girard Senior Citizens; and

WHEREAS, Vera Pratt was preceded in death by her husband; her brother, Gerald Sheppard; and her sisters, Mary Ellen Mason and Norma MacKenzie; and

WHEREAS, Vera is survived by her daughter, Debbie J. (Mike) Marsaglia; her grandsons, Rich M. (Bethany) Marsaglia and Eric W. (Dawn) Marsaglia; her great-grandchildren, Kade, Rome, Charlee, and Brock Marsaglia; her sisters, Jean (Bill) Hatcher and Marjorie (Glenn) Howard; and her many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Vera C. Pratt; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Vera Pratt as an expression of our sympathy.
