SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Donald M. Hinrichs of Alton; and

WHEREAS, He was born on March 10, 1924, in Alton, the son of the late Harry C. and Lillian (Bilderbeck) Hinrichs; he married Patricia Siglock on April 30, 1949, in Alton; and

WHEREAS, He was veteran of the United States Army, serving his country during World War II with the 81st Combat Engineers of 106 Infantry Division; he fought in four of the seven major battles in Europe, including the Battle of the Bulge; and

WHEREAS, He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, VFW Post 1308, both in Alton, and a charter member of Alton High Men's Round Table Limited; he enjoyed family, friends, golfing, and military reunions; and

WHEREAS, Donald Hinrichs is survived by his wife, Patricia Hinrichs; his sons and daughters-in-law, Tim and Marsha Hinrichs and Matt and Julie Hinrichs; his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Mike Roberts; his 11 grandchildren, Audrey Heischmidt and her husband, Eric, Courtney Hinrichs and her fiance, Todd Meier, Arend C. Hinrichs, Lauren Horn and her husband, Jim, Andrew M., Catherine, and Olivia Hinrichs, Nick, Rick, Bryan, and Allison Roberts; and his 3 great-grandchildren, Jackson, Julianna, and Christopher; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Donald Hinrichs; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Donald Hinrichs as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
