SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Dallas C. Matlock of Edwardsville, who
4passed away on December 1, 2010; and
 
5    WHEREAS, He was born on July 25, 1942, in Greenville, the
6son of the late Kermit and Opal (Fowler) Matlock; he worked for
7the City of Edwardsville Water Department and retired in 2007
8after 38 years of dedicated service; and
 
9    WHEREAS, He was a member of the Edwardsville Masonic Lodge,
10Edwardsville Moose Lodge, Scottish Rite of Southern Illinois,
11Ainad Shriners Drum and Bugle Corp of East St Louis, and the
12Labor Local 397 in Edwardsville; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Mr. Matlock loved the outdoors and camping with
14his family and friends; and
 
15    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; his son,
16Troy Matlock; his sister, Nina Ridgeway; his brothers, Eugene
17and Don Matlock; and his former wife, Darlene Matlock; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Dallas Matlock is survived by his beloved wife,
19Vicki L. Matlock; his son, Michael and Karen Brown; his
20daughters, Lisa and Kenny Bertrand and Sherri Howarth; his

1daughter-in-law, Melinda and Kenneth Scott; his sisters, Dovie
2Force and Faye Hamby; his grandchildren, Randi Rains,
3Christopher Brown Sr., Noah Greer IIII, Nikolas Greer, Conner
4Brown, Dallas Bertrand, and Rosalyn Bertrand; his
5great-grandson Christopher Brown Jr.; and many extended family
6and friends; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
9his family and friends, the passing of Dallas Matlock; and be
10it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Dallas Matlock as a symbol of our
13sincere sympathy.
