SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Frank Campbell Sr. of Peoria, who passed away on November 30, 2010; and

WHEREAS, He was born on February 12, 1930, in Ybor City near Tampa, Florida, to Andrew Lovett and Ethel (Reddish) Campbell; and

WHEREAS, He married the love of his life, Gloria Jean Carruthers, on August 17, 1952, in Columbus, Georgia; and

WHEREAS, He was the past president of the Tri-County Urban League; and he was a member of Ward Chapel A.M.E. Church; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Johnny Campbell and Alphonso Campbell; and his sister, Ernestine Hart; and

WHEREAS, Frank Campbell Sr. leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted family, which includes his wife of over 58 years, Gloria Campbell; his sons, Frank (Kim) Campbell and Michael Campbell; his daughter, Angela Campbell-McElroy; his grandchildren whom he adored, Kyle McElroy, Franklin Campbell, Khari Campbell-Wright, and Julian Campbell; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends, including his Tri-County Urban League family; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Frank Campbell Sr.; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Frank Campbell Sr. as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
