SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Linda L. Glover of Island Lake, who passed away on November 22, 2010; and

WHEREAS, She was born on February 23, 1948, in Chicago, to Edward and Helen (Gawlowski) Gallas; and

WHEREAS, She was recognized for being the first woman postal carrier in McHenry County while working through college; she then earned her bachelor's degree from Elmhurst College and her master's degree from Rosary College; and

WHEREAS, She taught English at Army Trail High School in Addison and then dedicated over 25 years as a librarian at Harper College, retiring in 2007; she was an avid reader and had a passion for baking cakes for family and friends; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother and sister-in-law, Edward (Patricia) Gallas Jr.; and her sister, Marlene Lundborg; and

WHEREAS, Linda Glover is survived by her daughter, Kristin Glover; her granddaughter, Ella Lee Glover-Taylor; her sisters, Joan (Joseph) Passanante, Phyllis (George) Pugh, and Judy Gallas; and her many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Linda Glover; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Linda Glover as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
