SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Carol A. Owen of Godfrey, who passed away on November 18, 2010; and

WHEREAS, She was born on August 7, 1937, in Alton, the daughter of Oscar E. Owen and Alice L. (Elmendorf) Wallace; and

WHEREAS, She retired from Alton Surgical Clinic as an insurance specialist in 1998; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents; and her son, Darin Owen; and

WHEREAS, Carol Owen is survived by her son, Jeffrey Owen; her daughter, Deidre Owen; and her very special uncle, Gene Elmendorf; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Carol Owen; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Carol Owen as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
