SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert William Manner, who passed away on August 26, 2010; and

WHEREAS, Robert Manner was born on July 3, 1948, in Joliet; he was a lifelong resident of Joliet; he graduated from Joliet West High School in 1966; and

WHEREAS, Robert Manner was employed as a hair stylist in Joliet for 40 years and was the former owner of Mr. Robert's and Manner Magic; he was employed at Apropos and Brown and Brown at the time of his passing; and

WHEREAS, Robert Manner was a member of the Elk's Club; he enjoyed biking, gardening, and meeting people; and

WHEREAS, Robert Manner was preceded in death by his sister, Sue Manner Turk; his parents, Mary and William Manner; and his many aunts and uncles, including George H. Dwyer and R. Patrick Dwyer; and

WHEREAS, Robert Manner is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 35 years, Julie Woodruff Kitchell Manner; his devoted children, Kurt (Sharon) Kitchell, Glenn (Lora) Kitchell, Kay (John) Novak, and Dale (Kristine) Kitchell; his caring brother, John (Susanne) Manner; his niece, Stephanie (Brent) Wagner; his nephews, William and Michael (fiance, Julie Torres); his grandchildren, Clare, Emily, and Katherine Kitchell, Ashley Chandler, Kristin, Kimberly, and Kevin Kitchell, Sara and John Novak, and Caitlin, Hannah, and Mason Kitchell; his great-nieces and great-nephews, J.C., Hayden, Cordelia, Cormac, and Declan; his sister-in-law, Janet Woodruff; his brother-in-law, Frank Turk; and his great friend and second mother, Jacquelyn Hickey; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Robert William Manner; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Robert Manner as an expression of our sympathy.
