SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Marjorie J. Werenski of Waukegan, who passed away on November 12, 2010; and

WHEREAS, She was born on December 31, 1921 in Waukegan; she was one of three children born to the late Ruth and George Moran, and was the beloved wife of the late Stephen Joseph "Slug" Werenski, Sr. for 38 years; and

WHEREAS, Marge loved playing bingo and poker, attending church, celebrating her Irish heritage, and spending time with family and friends; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her sister, Marilyn (Jackie) Moran and her brother, Robert "Duke" Moran; and

WHEREAS, Marjorie Werenski will forever be remembered by her devoted son, Stephen, Jr (Opal) Werenski; her loving grandchildren, Kristina Werenski and Heather (Tom) Sternberg; her treasured great-grandchild, Athena; her nephews and niece, John (Cookie) Moran, Robert (Nancy) Moran, and Dawn (Steve) Landfield; along with countless other family and friends who were blessed to know her; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Marjorie Werenski; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Marjorie Werenski as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
