SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Michael J. Molloy Sr., who passed away on
4November 11, 2010; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Michael Molloy Sr. was born on December 31, 1938,
6in Alton; he was the son of Weston J. and Opal L. (Burke)
7Molloy; he married the former Barbara Redd on November 4, 1961,
8at St. Patrick's Church in Alton; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Michael Molloy Sr. graduated from Marquette High
10School in 1956; he subsequently attended Loras College in Iowa
11and Southern Illinois University in Alton; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Michael Molloy Sr. served his country with pride
13and distinction as a member of the United States Army Reserves;
14and
 
15    WHEREAS, Michael Molloy Sr. was employed as a mold maker
16for Owens Illinois Glass Company until his retirement in 1993;
17he subsequently became the owner and operator of Mike's
18Broadway Wedge Tavern in Alton; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Michael Molloy Sr. was a member of the Knights of
20Columbus in Alton, American Legion Post 126, and the F.O.E.

1254; he enjoyed bowling, boating, and especially spending time
2with his two granddaughters; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Michael Molloy Sr. was preceded in death by his
4parents and his daughter, Melissa Molloy; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Michael Molloy Sr. is survived by his loving wife;
6his children, Michelle Molloy, Jennifer Freeman, and Michael
7Molloy Jr.; his granddaughters, Emily Freeman and Abby Freeman;
8his brother, Tim (Jan) Molloy; his sisters, Pat (Tom) Wilson
9and Kay (Dick) Renard; and his numerous nieces, nephews, and
10cousins; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
13his family and friends, the passing of Michael J. Molloy Sr.;
14and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Michael Molloy Sr. as an expression
17of our sympathy.
