SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Clinton F. Kimbro of Hillsboro, who passed away on October 24, 2010; and

WHEREAS, Clinton F. Kimbro was born on September 25, 1924 in Taylor Springs; his parents were George R. and Mary A. (Elmore) Kimbro, who both preceded him in death; and

WHEREAS, He served the community for 35 years with local delivery of petroleum and served as Montgomery County Clerk for 16 years; he retired in late 1998; he graduated from Hillsboro High School, class of 1941; and

WHEREAS, He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hillsboro, Mt. Moriah Masonic Lodge #51 AF & AM in Hillsboro, V.F.W. Post #1306 in Taylor Springs, and Hillsboro Moose Lodge #1377; he was a veteran of World War II with the Army Air Corp from 1943 to 1945; he was a B17 gunner who served in Normandy, Northern France Ardennes, Rhineland; he earned 4 Bronze Stars, a Good Conduct Air Medal, 3 Bronze Clusters, and 1 0/s Bar; and

WHEREAS, He married Vivian M. Havron on July 14, 1946 at the Presbyterian parsonage in Hillsboro; she preceded him in death on October 7, 1990; his son, Robert L. Kimbro, preceded him in death; and his siblings, Euris Kimbro, Dorothy Elam, and Lila Austin also preceded him in death; and

WHEREAS, Clinton Kimbro is survived by his daughter, Judith K. Wineburner; his daughter-in-law, Bev Smith; his grandchildren, Bonnie (husband Eric) White, Brandon (wife Michelle) Kimbro, Robert McMillan, and Elizabeth Wineburner; his great-grandchildren, Zach, Dillon, and Keragan White, Aliah and Zade Kimbro; and by his sister, Mary Von; his special friend, Rosemary Hotz, also survives him; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Clinton Kimbro; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Clinton Kimbro as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
