SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Mrs. Virglee Pruitt of Chicago, who passed away on October 15, 2010; and

WHEREAS, She was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on October 28, 1940 to Mr. and Mrs. R.L. Hilliard; she confessed God at an early age in Tulsa; she and her family moved to Chicago when she was in high school; and

WHEREAS, She met and married Air Force veteran James A. Pruitt, Sr. on September 20, 1963; she was a devoted wife for 36 years; and

WHEREAS, She was a member of Saint Anselm Catholic Church, where she served on the Hospitality Committee and wherever she was needed; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her sisters, Ruby, Jaclyn, Jesse, and Edna; her brothers, James, Cleo, and R.L.; and niece, Vera; and

WHEREAS, Virglee Pruitt is survived by her daughter, Lisa Pruitt; her son, James (Coretta) Pruitt; her grandchildren, Amber, Daniella, Yasmine, Jacob, Chelsea, Erika, Ezra, and Evelyn; her brother-in-law, Earl Pruitt, Jr. (Emma Lee); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Virglee Pruitt; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Virglee Pruitt as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
