SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Wilma J. Cox of Plainview, who passed away on September 8, 2010; and

WHEREAS, She was born in Shipman, on April 21, 1940, to Herman C. and Susie A. (Eddington) Kahl; on February 22, 1969, she married Gerald A. Cox in Shipman; and

WHEREAS, She served with the Macoupin County Treasurer's Office from 1958 until retiring in 2006, serving as Treasurer from 1994 until 2006, and was a member of the Women of the Moose in Carlinville, the Democratic Women of Macoupin County, and Zion Lutheran Church in Shipman; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents; and her three sisters, Arlene Stampe, Lucille Carr, and Norma Kahl; and

WHEREAS, Wilma Cox is survived by her husband, Gerald; her daughters and sons-in-law, Jodi and Don Simons and Lisa and Barry Reno; her son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Angie Cox; her seven grandchildren, Garrett and Amanda Cox, Benjamin and Joseph Reno, and Colton, Zachary, and Conner Simons; and her sisters, Iola Prather and Alice Randolph; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Wilma Cox; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Wilma Cox as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
