SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Harry J. Clay of Waukegan, who passed
4away on September 28, 2010; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mr. Clay was a graduate of Indiana University and
6a rated chess player while living in Indiana; he served in the
7United States Army, Special Forces/Airborne, stationed at Fort
8Bragg, North Carolina; and
 
9    WHEREAS, He taught in the Math Department at Waukegan High
10School from 1966 until his retirement in 1992, and was a
11past-president of the Waukegan High School Teacher's Union
12Local 504; Harry loved the City of Chicago for its theater and
13music, spending many retirement years visiting the city with
14his wife, but always returning home to Waukegan; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Harry J. Clay is survived by his wife, Kathryn
16Clay; his daughter, Christina Clay, M.D.; and his
17grand-daughters, Ellen and Charlotte Morris; therefore, be it
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
19ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
20his family and friends, the passing of Harry Clay; and be it
21further

1    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2presented to the family of Harry J. Clay as a symbol of our
3sincere sympathy.
