SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

110 ILCS 310/9 new

Amends the University of Illinois Trustees Act. Provides that on the effective date of the amendatory Act, the terms for the sitting trustees of the University of Illinois that are not students shall be terminated. Provides that the Governor shall appoint trustees for the vacancies as soon as practical. Effective immediately.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning education.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The University of Illinois Trustees Act is amended by adding Section 9 as follows:

(110 ILCS 310/9 new)

Sec. 9. Termination of sitting trustees. On the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 96th General Assembly, the terms for the sitting trustees of the University of Illinois that are not students shall be terminated. The Governor shall appoint trustees for the vacancies as soon as practical.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
