SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

605 ILCS 5/9-112.05 new

    Amends the Illinois Highway Code. Provides that no new grade crossingsof public highways with railroads may be established in the State ofIllinois on or after July 1, 2009. Effective July 1, 2009.

1     AN ACT concerning transportation.

2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:

4     Section 5. The Illinois Highway Code is amended by adding
5 Section 9-112.05 as follows:

6     (605 ILCS 5/9-112.05 new)
7     Sec. 9-112.05. Grade crossings of public highways with
8 railroads. No new grade crossings of public highways with
9 railroads may be established in the State of Illinois on or
10 after July 1, 2009.

11     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1,
12 2009.
